What if you were the next nugget of LinkedIn ? This person who is followed for his content, advice, opinion and who attracts relevant people and opportunities to him.

You can become that person! 🤭 To do this, you need to create and develop your personal branding. Let's see together the pillars on which you will have to rely to build it 🏗

Define your target: the starting point to seduce your audience

You are now registered on LinkedIn! Before you start completing your profile, it's important to know Who do you want to talk to and what message you want to pass on. This will help you build a consistent and appealing profile for the right people. You don't attract flies with vinegar, right?

To define your target properly, you can ask yourself about their identity based on socio-demographic criteria (CSP, gender, age, household size... ), Geographical (country, region, climate...) and Psycho-graphics (values, lifestyle...). I also invite you to search for profiles that correspond to your target audience directly on LinkedIn to fully understand its codes.

Creating and maintaining an attractive profile

Once you are familiar with your target audience's codes, and have identified their tastes and interests, it's time to move on to the next step: your LinkedIn profile! 😉 In fact, your LinkedIn profile is your online business card. So you have to take care of it because it represents you.

Add a professional and distinctive profile photo

Your profile photo should show you at your best 😊 I also advise you to present a professional image of you, but again, everything depends on your target...

Here is a tutorial that will allow you to have a professional and unique profile photo 👇

Tip for creating a Canva profile photo in 1 minute

  1. I choose a photo
  2. I am duplicating my photo
  3. I am erasing the background of one of the two photos
  4. I select a frame in “elements” on the left
  5. I insert the photo with background in it and lock this element with the padlock on the right
  6. I put the image without a background on top and I use the opacity to make the overlay perfect
  7. I fold the edges
  8. I get a professional and original photo! All that's left to do is download it...

Add a custom banner

Really, don't leave the default banner! This cover image is an opportunity to present your business or activity. You can create a design in a few minutes on Canva by selecting a template and customizing it. Insert a slogan, your key message or address your visitor directly by writing a call to action. Don't forget to add a contact address 😁

Complete the various sections

This is the most tedious part 😉 I advise you to complete all sections of your profile, both professional experiences, as well as your skills, the subject, without forgetting the title of your profile (of course). I also encourage you to add links to your achievements (articles, videos, projects, etc.).

Develop your network: connect with relevant people

In social networks, there is social.

This means that LinkedIn exists thanks to relationships between users! So you have to surround yourself with people relevant to your business : your target, your customers, your colleagues, your colleagues, your friends... Yes, they have a place in your network even if Linkedin is a professional network! In fact, your friends will be inclined to support your posts... and that's great for your visibility 🚀

I also invite you to connect with people who have interests and skills similar to yours. You can also join groups and participate in discussions to get to know yourself and exchange with other professionals.

Creating your personal brand: sharing quality content

If you want to become a LinkedIn star, you're going to have to create your personal brand. It is the basis of Personal branding, I invite you to dig deeper into this subject by reading this article on the 5 personalities who managed to create theirs.

To develop your personal branding on LinkedIn, you will need create and share interesting and useful content for your target audience. This can be written publications, carousels, videos, videos, infographics, infographics, infographics, case studies, case studies, articles, newsletters, etc. Don't forget to add relevant keywords so that your content can be easily found by people looking for information on your area of expertise 👌

Be active and give commitments

To maintain your online presence, it's important to be active on LinkedIn.

There is an indicator that assesses the power of your LinkedIn profile, the Social Selling Index. Everything goes there: your personal brand, your exchanges, your search for relevant people... The tool gives you a score that will influence the algorithm in promoting your content 😱

That's why I invite you not to leave this network behind: share content regularly, comment and interact with the posts of your contacts, and respond to the messages and comments you receive.

By showing that you are a accessible and engaging person, you will attract the attention of the right people and strengthen your personal branding!
